Despite the fact that she'll go down as one of the best point guards in league history, NAU senior guard Sade Cunningham once again missed out on being named to the Big Sky Conference's First Team.

Cunningham was named to the Big Sky's second team on Tuesday for the second straight year.

Cunningham is third all-time in the Big Sky with 627 assists and is NAU's all-time leader in the category.

This season, Cunningham averaged a team-best 11.7 points per game and also led the Lumberjacks with 5.79 assists per game and 51 steals on the year.

She ranked third in the league and 16th nationally with her 5.79 assists and finished fifth in the Big Sky, shooting 45.2 percent from the field.

In Thursday's game against Montana State, Cunningham will set the NAU record for games played with 123. She is currently tied for the top spot at 122. Her 4,122 minutes played as a Jack are 521 more than the next-closest player all-time, and she has played every minute of 12 games this season including three overtime contests.

Montana senior Mandy Morales was named the league's MVP. Portland State's Kelsey Kahle was the defensive player of the year, while Weber State junior Sarah Conner was named the newcomer of the year.

The league's first team was made up of Morales, Kahle, Portland State's Claire Faucher, Montana State's Erica Perry, Montana's Sonya Rogers and Idaho State's Michelle Grohs.

Cunningham was joined on the second team by Charday Hunt of Sacramento State, Courtney Stoermer of Northern Colorado, Nubia Garcia of Montana State, Britney Lohman of Montana and Jenna Brown of Idaho State.
