PHOENIX (AP) — Authorities say the driver of a big rig is dead after a crash on Interstate 10 about 70 miles west of Phoenix.
Arizona Department of Public Safety officials say the big rig owned by May Trucking veered across lanes of the interstate for unknown reasons shortly after noon Wednesday.
The rig then struck a residence at the Burnt Wells Rest Stop that's occupied by its caretakers.
Authorities say two residents of the house were in the backyard at the time of the crash and were flown by helicopter to a Phoenix-area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the big rig was declared dead at the scene. That person's identity has yet to be released.
