TUCSON (AP) — Authorities say a Tucson Unified School District monitor has been arrested for allegedly sending sexually explicit images to a student by cell phone.
Tucson police say 26-year-old Sheridan Gomez was booked Tuesday into Pima County Jail after he allegedly sent an obscene photo of himself to a female student at Cholla Magnet High School.
Detectives say Gomez apparently befriended the student, who gave him her cell phone number and then started receiving unwanted text messages. School officials learned of the obscene photo incident and called police.
Police say Gomez is facing one count of furnishing harmful items to minors.
