This weekend Mountain Line and Mountain Lift will sponsore their "Stuff the Bus" annual holiday food drive. This year, they will be collecting non-perishable food to benefit St. Mary's Food Bank.

The Stuff the Bus campaign will kick off today when transit riders will be able to board any Mountain Line or Mountain Lift vehicle for free with a non-perishable food item.

Jeff Meilbeck, general manager of NAIPTA (which operates Mountain Line and Mountain Lift) calls it a win-win situation. "Riders get to do a good deed and get a free ride," Meilbeck said.

On Saturday and Sunday, a Mountain Line bus will be stationed in the Albertson's parking lot on Route 66 and Switzer Canyon Drive. Holiday shoppers are encouraged to "Stuff the Bus" with nonperishable food donations. Turkeys will also be accepted at this collection site. Stuff the Bus hours will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

All food collected will be delivered to St. Mary's Food Bank Flagstaff for distribution to those in need.
