Flagstaff police will be conducting an operation at rail crossings today in an effort to give officers first-hand experience in seeing dangerous and illegal behaviors locomotive engineers see every day.

According to information from the Flagstaff Police Department, the operation, conducted together with BNSF, will have officers watching railroad crossings between Steves Boulevard and Fanning Drive. Anybody caught trespassing or failing to stop at a railroad crossing signal, or driving around railroad crossing gates will get a ticket.

The operation begins at 8 a.m.
