Coconino County Health Department plans Monday, Wednesday and Friday vaccinations by appointment for some of the children and adults most vulnerable to swine flu, including a Saturday round on Dec. 5.
Beginning Monday, the clinic at 2625 N. King St. will begin giving Monday, Wednesday and Friday vaccines for H1N1 to:
— Pregnant women
— Children 6 months to 4 years old
— Children between 5 and 18 with underlying health conditions — neuromuscular disease, diabetes, underlying heart or lung conditions, or suppressed immune system
— Anyone who lives with or cares for children less than 6 months old
— Health care workers with direct patient contact
These clinics offer about 75 appointments per day on the first weekdays, with 250 scheduled for Dec. 5.
Plans are to open these shots up to more groups as more vaccine supply arrives.
Regular (seasonal) flu shots are not available right now, due to lack of supply.
The Health Department seeks insurance cards, however vaccination against swine flu is free.
Appointments are at 679-7300.
