Famed photographer Paul Mobley will visit NAU on Thursday as part of a national book tour. New York City-based Mobley is behind the images in the top-selling photography book "American Farmer: Portraits from the Heartland." He was recently featured on the Martha Stewart Show with several of the farmers featured in the book.

He will be a guest of the School of Communication and the photojournalism group PJ/One. His presentation will be at 6 p.m., at the School of Forestry auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

Pit-bulls offered scholarships

Second Chance Center for Animals is offering Pit Bulls and Pit mixes scholarships to attend SCCA training courses working toward earning their Canine Good Citizen Certification through the "For Pinky's Sake" program.

Classes, which are regularly $100 for the public, will be only $25 for Pit Bull breeds. For every Pit Bull and Pit mix that passes the Canine Good Citizen test, SCCA will be awarded a $150 grant from the Animal Farm Foundation. Classes start Saturday.
