Mesa Air Group to cancel service out of Kingman, Prescott
Thursday, May 08, 2008
PHOENIX (AP) -- Officials in Prescott and Kingman say Mesa Air Group will stop government-subsidized flights out of their cities in August.
The Phoenix-based carrier's subsidiary, Air Midwest, had been providing air service to those cities under the U.S. Department of Transportation's essential air service program. The program helps carriers fly into airports that normally would be unprofitable.
Air Midwest is the primary airline out of both cities, with 20 flights out of Kingman and 18 flights out of Prescott every week.
